Letter from Robert Burns to William Creech, dated 24 January 1788. autograph draft of letter. Endorsed "Copy to Mr Creech."

Written in January 1788, this is a letter from Robert to his publisher William Creech. At this time, Burns was waiting for the monetary settlement from the publisher.

The 'business' Burns refers to concerns money matters. Burns went to Edinburgh in autumn 1787 to sort matters out with Creech, namely the 'business' which Burns says has 'kept me four months.' Describing Creech as 'my friend, my Patron', Burns is appealing to Creech to honour agreements as soon as possible.
