Description

The Holy Tulzie. Partly written in an unidentified hand and finished in the hand of Robert Burns.

This is a satire on a tulzie (quarrel) between two Kirk ministers over the size of their respective flocks. Robert’s friends met this attack on the ‘Auld Lichts’ with a ‘roar of applause’.

Sometimes known as "The Twa Herds". A satirical lamentation on the quarrel re. parish boundaries between the ministers of Riccarton and Kilmarnock. Followed by a second Manuscript, see item ref 3.6195
