Facsimile of manuscript of poem by Robert G. Ingersoll.
This framed poem is in the facsimile handwriting of the famed American orator, Robert G. Ingersoll (1833-1899) who was inspired to write these verses after a visit to the Birthplace Cottage of Robert Burns on 19 August 1878.
Surrounding the poem is an elaborate gilt panel with scroll relief and portraits of Robert Burns and Robert Ingersoll. The scroll relief carries a eulogy to Robert Burns by Ingersoll.
