Description
One of a set of 9 oak hall chairs with double scroll backs painted in gold with Burns's crest and motto "better a wee bush than nae bield". Each chair was donated to the Monument Committee in 1827 to furnish the interior chamber of the Monument erected in 1823.
Brass plate on back of seat reads 'From Sir D. Hunter Blair of Blairquhan, Baronet, 1827'.
