Description
Oak hall chair with double scroll back painted in gold with Burns's crest and motto 'better a wee bush than nae bield'. Square rear legs, turned front legs. Each chair was donated to the Monument Committee in 1827 to furnish the interior chamber of the Monument erected in 1823.
Brass plate affixed to the back of the chair states 'From Alex West Hamilton Esq, Rozelle, 1827'.
