Description
Small, white ceramic bowl with black and white transfer printed design of a monkey looking in a mirror and a man walking a monkey on a leash on other side of bowl. Two verses from unknown poems on outside rim of bowl. Black and white transfer printed compass on inside of bowl.
Small label detailing history of bowl. Item could have possibly been used as a shaving bowl on board a ship. Label states that bowl belonged to Thomas Rodger, son of Hugh Rodger, schoolmaster to Robert Burns.
