Description

A replica of the chair used by Mr William Burnes, father of the poet. Rectangular top rail, waved underneath and tapered rectangular splat. Wooden seat painted with Burns verses:

"The Mother, wi' her needle and her sheers Gars auld claes look amainst as weel's the new".

On short squared legs joined by square stretchers. Manufactured as part of Cottage refurbishment, 1993.
