Mahogany writing desk belonging to Robert Burns. Drop down writing desk with two short drawers above three long drawers all with brass handles. On two squared front legs and two tapering back legs. With several small drawers and compartments to inside of drop down part of desk.

This mahogany writing desk belonged to Robert Burns when he lived in his final years in Dumfries. During this period much of his work was on the Scots Musical Museum and among the poems he wrote were "Scots, wha Hae" and "Is There for Honest Poverty".

Robert used this desk during his final years in Dumfries. Some of his most famous songs, like Scots wha hae and A Man’s a Man for a’ that were likely first written at this desk.
