Description

A mahogany armchair with rectangular top rail, slightly concave, and with splat formed of three columns in stylised and narrow vase shape, the central one also pierced. With slightly curved arm rests and seat covered in brown leather. On square tapering legs joined by H-shaped stretchers.

This is one of eight chairs said to have been used by Robert while living at Ellisland Farm, from 1788 to 1791.
