Description
Engraving of the banks of the River Doon. Depicts a cow, sheep and shepherd on road to left. Drawn and engraved by J Grieg. Published March 1805 by Vernor & Hood.
This engraving possibly drawn in the early 1800`s shows the River Doon spanned by the Brig 0`Doon which flows into the Firth of Clyde only one mile away. The river was also immortalized by Burns in his famous song `Ye Banks and Braes 0` Bonie Doon'.
