Wooden guittar (an early form of the modern guitar), with bulbous shaped body and tapered handle reportedly belonging to Robert Burns. Missing guitar strings.

Robert Burns is also known to have owned a fiddle, a stock-and-horn (a simple woodwind instrument made of animal bone) and a flute.

Based on its dating, this object is one of the earliest known English style guittar in any Scottish collection.
