Description

A black and white engraving of the 'The Cottage of Burns, the Poet'. Apparently copied from the aquatint of 1801 by W. Score and R. Scott. In wooden moulded frame.

The picture depicts the Cottage around the early 1800`s surrounded by trees and bushes with adjacent cottages in the background.

Several engravings of the Cottage were created by various artists in the 1800's, particularly around the dates of the Poet's birth and death anniversaries in 1859 and 1896. This one is apparently copied from the acquatint (1801) by W. Score.
