Description
This engraving, similar to many produced in the mid 1800's in the style of Archibald Skirving is autographed to 'T.G. Armstrong from J.G. Burns'. This is believed to be James Glencairn Burns (1794-1865) the third surviving son of the poet.
The engraving itself was drawn by H. Robinson perhaps sometime in the 1850's. These prints for framing sold in great numbers at the time and found their way around the world to Burns enthusiasts.
