Description

Bronze statue of Robert Burns. A bronze reduction copy of the statue of Robert Burns erected in Burns Statue Square, Ayr, by George A. Lawson, standing on a modern blue metal plinth with interpretation plaque. The original was unveiled in 1891.

The statue by Lawson in Ayr built up a reputation as being one of the more successful Burns sculptures and was the model for many other such statues around the world notably in Melbourne (Australia), Detroit (USA) and Vancouver, Montreal and Winnipeg (Canada).
