Description

Cast-iron bannock toaster with central tray with a hinged and curved handle. With curved moveable hinge on underside of toaster.

This kitchen cooking implement is a typically 18th century frying pan which would have been fitted over the fireplace. Made of metal, it has a rectangular cooking surface hinged with moveable prong on the underside.

Origin is unknown but was one of the kitchen implements in the Cottage kitchen for many years, until the Cottage was restored in 1993; at which time the frying pan was removed as it was not thought likely to have been in use there in 1759.
