Description
Mahogany chair with rectangular top rail, slightly concave, and with splat formed of three columns in stylised and narrow vase shape, the central one also pierced. With seat covered in brown leather attached by studs. Rear legs on square tapering legs. Front legs square upright. Joined by H-shaped stretchers.
This is one of eight chairs said to have been used by Robert while living at Ellisland Farm, from 1788 to 1791.
