Description

Rug, made in 1950s by Grays of Ayr for Scott’s Crown Carpets Ltd.

The Alexander Nasmyth bust appears in an oval in the centre in front of four rectangular vignettes depicting the Cottage, Tam o' Shanter Inn in Ayr, Burns Monument and Auld Alloway Kirk.

The Wallace Tartan border reminds us of the close association of Sir William Wallace and the Royal Burgh of Ayr.
