Gifts in Wills
By including a gift in your Will, you’ll be building a lasting legacy and helping to ensure that the places you treasure are protected for generations to come.
Protect the places you love most
The magnificent landscapes, buildings and gardens in the care of the National Trust for Scotland today are the places and spaces where memories are made and special moments are shared.
Ancient castles and story-rich collections, winding footpaths and adventurous trails, beautiful gardens and our amazing wild spaces – they all offer an escape from everyday life. By including a gift to the National Trust for Scotland in your Will, you’ll be helping to ensure these places remain protected for everyone to experience, explore and enjoy, for many generations to come.
Every gift to our charity, no matter the size, will help us to continue our vital conservation work all across Scotland and will ensure that others can continue to share moments, memories and adventures across the places in our care.
If you’re interested in supporting our charity with a gift in your Will, please let us know via our online form.

What I love most about the National Trust for Scotland is our incredible diversity in the heritage that we're looking after,
from the mountains and natural heritage of our upland properties to the beautiful gardens and art collections all across the country.
It's an incredible diversity that we're really proud to look after.
I like to feel that we're doing something important; I genuinely believe our work's important.
We live in very strange and sometimes frightening times.
Our climate is changing and I think the Trust has an opportunity to make a real difference.
We continue to invest in conservation and really invest in young people.
It's the young people that are our future generation and they're the ones that are going to be looking after these properties once we're gone.
I love the Trust for many reasons, one of which is really the wide range, the variety of properties, of history and heritage, and environments that they cover.
Whatever you have a passion for, you will definitely find at least one, if not many more, opportunities to go and visit them within the National Trust for Scotland.
Our work is so important because our places mean so much to so many different people.
It's about preserving what we have for future generations, and supporting us in this work is a real way to make a long-term difference.
There is a special way that you can help to protect the magnificent places and spaces that we care for.
Gifts in Wills help us to protect the historical buildings, landscapes, gardens, collections and wildlife in our care.
We wouldn't be able to continue all our vital conservation work across Scotland without the generous support of those who leave us a gift in their Will.
If and when the time is right, please consider remembering the National Trust for Scotland with a gift in your Will, and help us to protect these special places for generations to come.

Why are gifts in Wills so important to our charity?
As Scotland’s largest conservation charity, we are proud to care for and protect over 100 historic buildings, 39 major gardens, 76,000 hectares of countryside, over 300,000 precious objects, 8 National Nature Reserves and 46 Munros. These places help to tell Scotland’s stories.
Every day, gifts in Wills enable our countryside teams, conservators, rangers, archivists and gardeners to carry out their vital work. In fact, 10p of every £1 that we spend on protecting the places in our care comes from gifts in Wills. Without the foresight and generous support of those who include a gift in their Will to the Trust, we simply wouldn’t be able to continue all our conservation work.

- We respect that your loved ones come first when writing your Will.
- We will do our best to help in any way we can, but we will never offer legal advice or seek to replace proper legal guidance.
