I promised. Labour three or four weeks I shall probably set
the press along. I am much hurried at present other

Letter from Robert Burns to John Kennedy, dated Mossgeil, 16 May 1786.
John Kennedy was the factor to the Earl of Dumfries at Dumfries House when Robert met him in 1786. In this short letter, Robert sends him a copy of his poem 'Epistle to John Rankine'. He also says he 'shall probably set the Press agoing' in the next few weeks with his Kilmarnock edition.
