[?] my joy of my good
Fortune, and pray, fervently
pray for the Angel who has
been the Author of it. Lady
Loudon in answer to an application
for an appointment
has said that Lord Mann
has put me down for a
place for a postion the Commissariat which
is the very best here in the
Country. [?] well [?] the
exhaust[?] my letter to
[?] Mr [?]ight. I
scarcely think I can be
not be much surprised
if I should - Yet I think
Lady L. would scarcely
to say it so positively, without
the Lord being well assured
of it - the salary is very
handsome & will enable
me to repay you for
your trouble & kindness in
part - To your and my
Father may I [?]
my good fortune for
had I not had a Mother
who [?] assistance or a
Father of such a name
it is ten hundred to one
I should ever have got
anything. I am likely to
get the start of [?]
not only in the [?], but
in being made a Lieutenant
before him, as he is soon
to get [?] steps by
Give my Love to all Friends
& particularly the Perochons --
