Calcutta 1st June 1814
My dearest Mother!
Having scarcely a Moments'
time I shall be brief. I have been
admitted into College and am
now labouring very hard to at
Persian [?] & Hindustani
so that I have not a Moment to
myself. I have enjoyed [?]
and still enjoy remarkable good
health. By a Gentleman who
goes home by this Ship, I have
sent you my Miniature, he goes
by way of Edinburgh, so will
