My dear Mother!
Although I have nothing
particular to say, I would not leave
the opportunity of having a letter from
me delivered personally, which will
be done by Mr Harley a Surgeon
in our Service and a Son of Dr
Harley of Dumfries, he leaves here
in a few days. Would to God I were
going with him! In consequence
of the Peace, we have had grand
illuminations and I verily believe
it has set the people all mad. For
Dumfries I suppose, you have been
illuminating and turning the town
inside out. My instruction is the
same as when I last wrote you
still plodding at College- where
on account of my eye, I am not able
to work so hard as I would wish
What an unfortunate loss it has
been to me! First taking up half
my time at school and now
it has set the people all mad. For
Dumfries I suppose, you have been
illuminating and turning the town
inside out. My instruction is the
same as when I last wrote you
still plodding at College- where
on account of my eye, I am not able
to work so hard as I would wish
What an unfortunate loss it has
been to me! First taking up half
my time at school and now
is in my way for acquiring
what will be of much use to
me. I heard from William
lately, who was quite well.
I trust you are so also. My
best regards to all Friends!
