Framed poster with an advertisement for a menagerie or zoo of wild animals displayed in Dumfries marketplace in 1796. On reverse is a handwritten note stating that Robert Burns wrote a verse on the back of the poster. Verse is now badly faded and has been transcribed into the original letter detailing Burns' connection with the poster. In a wooden frame.
