Description

Framed square sampler, incorporating letters of the alphabet and flowers, birds, and coronets, 19 x 19.5cm. The pattern is similar to the larger sampler but undated.

The reverse with a Scottish Exhibition, Glasgow, 1911 Palace of History label, Schedule number 807-2, Sender's Name: Rev G. F. A. MacNaughton, Address: The Manse, Carsphairn, Article Lent: Sampler sewn by the Isabella Burns (afterwards Mrs Begg) youngest sister of tear.

Also with a handwritten note 'was my Mother's Burn's Youngest Sister' and 'Isabella Burns Begg’.
