A wooden bookcase in two pieces.
A bookcase with molded frieze above two paneled doors enclosing three shelves and at the bottom three short drawers. Resting on top of a press, with panelled doors enclosing a shelf.
Engraved brass plate on front stating 'This Shelved Press was the property of the Scottish Poet. It was used by him as a Bookcase and formed part of his furniture at Ellisland and Dumfries'.
