Description
Wooden rosary made from wood salvaged from Auld Kirk, Alloway, 1822. Comprising a turned wooden cross with brass fittings and a string of 49 spherical wooden beads.
This necklace made of wood with a small cross at the foot was made from wood taken from Kirk Alloway. This ruined church which was built about 1516 features in Burns' celebrated comic poem 'Tam O'Shanter' and is less than half a mile from the Poet's birthplace.
