Description
This painting titled "Alloway Kirk from the West" was completed in 1816 by John Fleming. The Kirk and graveyard are in the foreground with the Brig o' Doon and Carrick hills seen in the distance. It is noticeable that the Burns Monument which was built in 1823 is absent from this scene.
