Description

This is a plaster copy of the statue of Highland Mary in Dunoon reduced in size.

The original was sculpted and cast in bronze by D.W. Stevenson and unveiled in Dunoon at a spot overlooking the firth of Clyde on 1st August, 1896.

David Watson Stevenson (1842-1904) was the elder of two brothers who sculpted many well known statues of the Poet and related subjects as well as bas-relief panels which were produced in bronze, plaster or terracotta.
