Description

Circular, wooden Mauchline ware threadbox with images of Burns Monument and Burns Cottage made from the wood which grew on the banks of the Doon.

Several small bone or ivory holes for thread to be threaded through on exterior of box with numbers (e.g. 30, 60 etc.) painted in gold on a black, circular background.

Several small pieces of wood to interior of box for holding bobbins and needles. On inside of lid is a white, blue and gold label detailing the box's maker, Clarke's, Paisley.
