Amazing experiences all year round
Membership is the gift that keeps on giving, with access to all of our places, free of charge, all year round. Here’s our seasonal guide to what to see and do.
Spring
As the country starts dusting itself off after winter, there’s loads to do – from spotting wildlife in our countryside places to taking in the dazzling daffodil displays at Brodie and Threave, and enjoying blooming borders around our gardens. Enjoy picnics in the fresh air or rainy days spent exploring historic houses.
Summer
Family memberships are priceless in the school holidays, and there’s an endless list of things to do with little ones – they can hike, bike and cut loose in one of our awesome play parks at Culzean, Newhailes, Brodick and Crathes. Of course, you don’t need children in tow to bag a Munro, explore a nature trail, relax on the beach or make the most of the different events we have on in the summer months.
Autumn
Number one on our autumn list is heading to our woodland places. The changing colours at the Hermitage or Dollar Glen are breathtaking – and dogs love playing in the fallen leaves! It’s also a super time of year to soak up some culture at our historic houses and castles, and we host lots of spooky Halloween events aimed at little monsters.
Winter
This season means wrapping up warm and filling up flasks with something hot. Lots of our places stay open through winter, from frosty walks to exploring fascinating parts of Scotland’s history at Bannockburn or Robert Burns Birthplace Museum. Our properties are a bit quieter in winter, helping people to enjoy some tranquility at this busy time of year. We also host some great festive events, from carol-singing and wreath-making to visits from Santa.
Thank you for your support
By buying someone a gift membership, you’re not only giving them access to all of our amazing places for free for a whole year, you’re also supporting our work to protect Scotland’s precious heritage.
Thank you, and we look forward to seeing you and your loved ones at our places soon!
