Within the archives at Broughton House is one of the world’s largest Robert Burns collections. Amassed by E A Hornel with the assistance of James Cameron Ewing, Head of Special Collections at the Mitchell Library in Glasgow, the collection includes a famed Kilmarnock Edition of Poems, Chiefly in the Scottish Dialect, of which fewer than 80 copies remain globally.
