Experience the home life of a wealthy, late 18th-century family in the public and private spaces of the ‘upstairs’ rooms. The house cost the first resident John Lamont (18th Chief of the Clan Lamont) £1,800 in 1796. The fine collections of period furniture, porcelain, silver and glass reflect the Lamonts’ elegant lifestyle, including lavish entertainment for guests.

From Charlotte Square, step into the lobby and inner hall, which is illuminated by the oval dome (cupola) at the top of the house.

On the ground floor are the dining room and the bedchamber, while on the first floor are the drawing room and parlour.

The second floor of the house features an exhibition space and film room.
