Planning your visit
Outdoor adventures
Looking for exciting things to do in the Highlands? Look no further as Perthshire is the perfect place to make the most of the great outdoors. With miles of footpaths covering Munros, through woodlands and along riverbanks you’re bound to find a walk that is perfect for all the family, including the dog!
For all thrill-seekers there are also multiple local companies that organise activities such as quad biking, clay pigeon shooting and even bungee jumping.
You can also arrange a private tour of Killiecrankie with a ranger.
The countryside is open to everyone so please be respectful of others and the environment by keeping dogs under control and following the Scottish Outdoor Access Code at all times.
Please also note that we don’t allow any open fires or BBQs at Killiecrankie at any time of year, to help us protect the beautiful woodland. If you are wild camping, please only use a small gas stove – unless it is during a period of high wildfire risk, when we ask that stoves are not used either. Thank you for your support in helping us to look after this very special place.
Please see our drop-down Facilities below for helpful information about planning your visit.

Facilities & access
- The visitor centre, café and toilets are on one level but the footpath into the Pass of Killiecrankie is steep, uneven and has steps.
We have an ongoing programme of accessible content development. Detailed accessibility guides for the most visited Trust places are available on our Accessibility pages as well as links to useful resources.
We’d love you to visit the Euan’s Guide website to review the accessibility of Trust places and tell us (and others) what’s good and where we need to do better.
Parking is on two levels, with disabled parking bays on each level.
The café at Killiecrankie is open daily.
The food served at Killiecrankie Visitor Centre is healthy and delicious, and as light or as filling as you decide! Ingredients are fresh and local, and the café caters for all types of dietary requirements.
Dogs are welcome on site and inside the visitor centre but must always be kept under control and on a lead inside buildings.
Pay & Display parking is available next to the visitor centre and picnic area (£4 per vehicle; free to National Trust and National Trust for Scotland members).
