About this place
Exceptional and remote mountain scenery with lochs, glens and the magnificent ridge of the Five Sisters
- Absorb yourself in one of the most wild and beautiful areas of the Scottish Highlands.
- Enjoy the views of the magnificent Five Sisters of Kintail, a famous mountain range that’s been in the care of the Trust since 1944.
- Look out for iconic Scottish wildlife including otters in the sea on Loch Duich, red deer on the hill slopes and golden eagles soaring up high.
- Seek out Cill Fhearchair, a 2,000-year-old standing stone and burial ground, and the nearby site of the Battle of Glenshiel.
- Come on an adventure on one of our ranger-led outdoor activities, which include guided sea kayaking and guided hill walking.
The sharp peaks of the Five Sisters dominate the horizon, while tucked away in a cleft of the glens is one of Scotland’s highest waterfalls – the dizzying Falls of Glomach.
A network of trails will lead you up and around the mountains, lochs, glens and coastline, from family walks in the lower glens to scaling Munro summits or completing the Affric–Kintail Way on foot, mountain bike or pony. You’ll also find a multitude of other challenging outdoor activities to experience here – sea kayaking, climbing or high-intensity hill walking.
Meanwhile, photographers and artists will fall head over heels for vistas that bring together the most iconic features of the Highlands. Look out for our native woodlands – we’re working to restore them to the crofting landscape.
