Duke of Buccleuch visits Culross Palace

His Grace, the Duke of Buccleuch made a recent official visit to Culross Palace.

After opening the General Assembly in the morning, his Grace, the Duke of Buccleuch made an official visit to Culross Palace. Whilst there, he was treated to a tour of the property led by Elaine Longmuir, Property Manager who introduced him to property volunteers and staff.

Others present on the visit included The Purse Bearer, Mr Tom Murray; The Chaplain, The Revd Neil Gardner; Lady-in-Waiting, Lady Gilly Ogilvy-Wedderburn; ADC, Lt Alex Marsh RN.

Lord Charles Bruce, a descendant of the original owner of Culross Palace, was also present. His Grace was met by Lord Bruce who introduced the Trust’s Chief Operating Officer Patrick Duffy, before being introduced to Stuart Maxwell (General Manager Ayrshire & Arran) and Jonathan Brown (Operations Manager).

The Duke visited Culross Palace as part of his High Commissioner role – appointed to him by HRH Queen Elizabeth II.
