A host of Trust sites across the country will be offering free entry to National Lottery players from 9 – 17 March 2024. Anyone with a valid online or retail National Lottery ticket, Scratchcard or Instant Win Game can enjoy a low-cost day out thanks to special offers at our participating places.

Properties including Castle Fraser in Aberdeenshire, House of the Binns in Linlithgow, and Greenbank Garden in Glasgow are just some of the hundreds of National Lottery-funded venues and visitor attractions across Scotland saying thank you to people who have raised money for good causes by buying a lottery ticket.

Many of the places we look after have benefitted from over £30 million made available through the National Lottery Heritage Fund and we want to thank National Lottery players who have made much of our conservation work possible.

Ali MacLeod, Head of Fundraising at the Trust, said: ‘As a charity, we could not carry out the work we do without funding from organisations like the National Lottery. The money they contribute means we can continue educating, informing and entertaining visitors from across the globe with tales of Scotland’s rich culture and heritage.’

Darren Henley, Chief Executive of Arts Council England and Chair of the National Lottery Forum said: ‘In our 30th year, we’re delighted to mark the return of The National Lottery Open Week 2024. The UK is brimming with exciting things to see and do – from historical landmarks and cultural treasures to sports venues and natural landscapes. We want players to get out and experience something new by taking advantage of the low-cost and free days out at venues across the country during National Lottery Open Week. This is our way of saying thank you to the players who raise an incredible £30 million each week for Good Causes, supporting venues and projects across the arts, sports, community and heritage sectors.’

Since The National Lottery’s first draw took place on 19 November 1994, more than £48 billion has been raised for Good Causes, with 685,000 individual grants being awarded in the areas of arts, sport, community and heritage.
