Inside the apartment you’ll find roll-top baths, tartan carpets and opulent rooms, perfect for unwinding. There’s even a bedroom at the top of a turret! From the tower’s imposing entrance, you can step outside into the castle gardens and explore the luxurious grounds. Or, head inside the castle itself to admire the collections of weapons, paintings and furniture ... and maybe hear some haunted tales.
East Wing at Castle Fraser, Aberdeenshire

Or explore the woodlands, walled garden, deer park and beaches on the estate, which is home to architectural surprises and rare wildlife.
Struther’s Apartment at Gladstone’s Land, Edinburgh
Make your visit to Edinburgh truly special by staying in one of the oldest buildings on the famous Royal Mile. For 500 years, Gladstone’s Land has been at the heart of commerce and society in the capital, and now you can make it your base to explore Edinburgh’s Old Town.
There are four apartments to choose from, including Struther’s Apartment, which is named after one of the building’s most notable residents. William Struther lived there from 1623–33 and was a minister at the nearby St Giles’ Cathedral. This is the largest apartment in the property and is beautifully furnished with soft sofas and a log-burning stove. Clues to the history of the building are peppered throughout the flat. This is the perfect place to soak up Edinburgh’s unique historic atmosphere.

The property is filled with antiques and fine art, bringing some true Scottish grandeur to your stay. You can also take a tour of the castle to learn more about the Brodie family and their legacy – there’s an impressive collection of furniture, ceramics and artwork, along with a library that boasts more than 6,000 volumes. Visit in spring to see more than 100 varieties of daffodil in bloom around the grounds!
Beaton’s Croft on the Isle of Skye
Perfect for a romantic break or a tranquil escape, this secluded single-bedroom thatched cottage dates back to the 19th century and has been awarded an A-listing for historic significance. The interior is cosy and traditional – features like the wood-burning stoves and sloped ceilings will make you feel as though you’ve stepped back in time.
You’ll find everything you need in the croft house to help you prepare a tasty supper and get a great night’s sleep, but the property’s finest feature is undoubtedly its setting. Surrounded by the magnificent Isle of Skye landscape, you can soak up the fresh air and expansive views from the private garden. There are superb walks to be enjoyed in every direction, whether you want to hike the Cuillin Mountains or visit the nearby village of Uig and the renowned Skye Brewery.
